Recessed spotlights
A recessed spot is placed recessed in a ceiling and often have a limited protrusion, making a recessed spot less noticeable than a surface-mounted spot. The recessed spotlights can be supplied both tiltable and fixed and there are many different colors available. Do you want to install recessed spotlights? You should first check which spots are suitable for your project. Look at what kind of ceiling you have. For a concrete ceiling you need luminaires with leaf springs. For a normal plasterboard ceiling you can use normal clamping springs. Also take into account the installation depth. Not all spots have the same installation depth! And the most important thing is of course that you choose what you like and that it fits well in the room in which they are placed.

Surface mounted spotlights
Surface-mounted spotlights are an ideal solution if no recessed luminaires can be placed. For example if there is not enough space in the ceiling or if no holes can be made in a concrete ceiling. Surface-mounted spotlights can often also be placed on a wall and are available in fixed and directional versions. Spot lighting can be used in shops and offices, but also very suitable for home lighting. Place a number of surface-mounted spotlights in the living room. This gives the room more atmosphere and if you use a dimmer, you can dim the spots for a romantic evening.
Many different spots are available. Also spots with multiple light points. You can then illuminate a number of places in the room with 1 spot. This is very useful if you only have 1 central box in the ceiling and do not want visible cables over the ceiling.
Bathroom spotlights
Bathroom spots are usually adapted for use in a wet room. They usually have an IP number (IP meaning). This allows you to see where the spot can be placed in the bathroom. It is not advisable to use an open spotlight close to the shower. The water can penetrate the spot and a short circuit can occur!
That is why spots with a seal have been made. There are bathroom fixtures that are IP21 and these are then protected against water drops. These should not be near the shower. For this you must use IP 44 or higher, but an IP21 lamp is sufficiently protected in a place where there is little chance of water splashes. Take a good look at the zone layout in the bathroom and determine which sealing class you need. Also take into account the material of the lighting that you are going to place in the bathroom, glass cannot rust, but normal metal can. Aluminum is very suitable for lamps in the wet room, it does not rust.
A bathroom surface-mounted spot IP44-65 often have a rubber seal. This prevents water from entering the fixture. Often a rubber ring is used in the lid of the spot. Because of this it is still possible to open the spot and, for example, replace the light if it breaks.
Trimless inbouwspots
Ingebouwd in het plafond hebben deze trimless inbouwspots geen uitsteek en zijn gelijk aan het plafond. Zeer geschikt voor als je van een heel strak plafond houdt. Er zijn verschillende type randloze inbouwspots: met ingebouwde LED of met een vervangbare lamp, meestal zal dit dan een GU10 lamp zijn. Houd er wel rekening mee dat u genoeg ruimte in het plafond heeft en gaat u een nieuwe woning bouwen, zorg er dan voor dat er rekening wordt gehouden met de spots. Er kunnen dan sparing boxen in het plafond geplaatst worden bij de bouw. Hier in kunnen de spots later geplaatst worden.
